See my post 20h ago for the link.
Start elite through the normal launcher and run the run.cmd in the linked archive,
The script will grab your token and create a shortcut that includes it on your desktop.
That shortcut will start elite without needing to start the launcher.
If you look in properties for the shortcut you can see your current TOKEN.
The TOKEN refreshes every now and then so you will need to remake the shortcut with the script every now and then, i think its every week or so, it depends on Frontiers maintenance.
If people could go here and click âCan Reproduceâ and add any additional details we can get the issue confirmed âVoteâ we can increase the priority.
@PimaxUSA is there anything that you could do to help? For example, giving Frontier a point of contact? Edit: Or if someone from Pimax could contribute to the issue with info on how to fix it, that would help too.
Tried your suggested .bat corrected for my install directory, still getting the log in error as if the token isnt passed on correctly.
ADDITION: ive tried copying the full shortcut target into a .bat to see if that will log in correctly but that doesnt work for some reason:
C:\games\EDlaunch\Products\elite-dangerous-64\EliteDangerous64.exe "ServerToken MY_TOKEN
Is there some kind of magic in the structure of the .ink file that isnt visible?
Some auto-formatter messed with the text and substituted non-standard characters. Specifically, the double quotes need to be the standard ASCII " character. The offending chars look similar: â and â, which are syntactically incorrect and should not be used in code of any kind.
The âdefaultâ quotation mark on shift+2 on qwerty swedish is the ASCII character as far as i can tell but im quite sure i tested it with multiple different quotation marks available.
I havnt tried playing Elite since posting this, i know the issues was pushed on Frontiers issue tracker but i dont think they have done anything about it.
Dont want to play Elite as ive got sparkles in my 5k+ currently, support is notified and a new cable is on the way.
Maybe no a 100% what I meant. I think a user here started a topic on Frontierâs forum for ED. But yeah good to see if pimax has reached out & vice versa.
