Eleven Table Tennis VR - AI has become an idiot

AI can’t hit a ball at all.

Not really a pimax issue I suspect but that can happen in eleven when the system is loaded CPU or GPU wise as IIRC the current AI code is tied to frame rate. Reboot usually works for me when this occurs. If not then get onto the eleven discord where the devs can assist you directly. Discord.

Thx. In vive, ai is smart. Other users of pimax said they had the same problem.

I have played eleven with both pimax and rift and AI was ok in both except in the above circumstances so it isnt a constant pimax issue but could be more frequent as pimax is a resource hog. Also, I use oculus eleven - if you are using steam that may also be an issue.

Don’t worry - Eleven seems to be coming for the new Oculus Quest. Once you try that you won’t ever go back to a tethered version…

Are you on 72 or 64hz by amy chance? There may be a chance that the ai or physics is tied to the refresh rate.

You are a genius! but in 8k, ai is still stupid because 8k is the highest 80hz.

Ah, might want to hit up the devs then. At least make them aware of this issue.

Until I receive my controllers I can’t play this game this on my Pimax. Though I have this game and play with my Samsung Odyssey… I also have the game “Racket Fury” and the AI and game physics in my opinion are much better than Eleven.

Is that confirmed ? I am currently travelling, but when I get back home in the next days I might give it a try - if the logic is correct, the AI should be okay with the 5K+ and blind with the 8K…

LOL, I played this with my 8K yesterday at 72hz and got same result as your first video.

The game also felt more sluggish than normal for me … my GTX1080 maybe not keeping up.

As a good alternative I’d suggest Racket Fury. It used to be worse than Eleven, but it has caught up and been even better.

Ai is only smart at 5k 90hz

Thanks for confirming. I hope the developer addresses this - after all, it seems that Eleven is going to be a launch title on the Quest, which runs at 75Hz, so he clearly can adapt the AI to the refresh rate. It would be enough to offer 90/80 Hz settings in the options menu, but ideally he would als include the lower ones.

Hi, developer here…

yea it’s something we are aware of and has already been fixed in the new code (which will release on all platforms as closely as we can).

If only the pimax crew actually worked with us when we asked for dev kits before release every month…

pixak do seem to have been focused on hardware to the exclusion of s/w compatibility. most games i try (steam and oculus but especially the latter) are either compromised or unplayable with pimax on i7, 1080ti, 16gb ram fwiw.

That explains it! Played this for the first time the other day in my 8k and wondered WTF was going on. Pleased it is going to be fixed as it is a great game for VR. :+1:
