you could also use peal n stick pads trimmed as spacers so if contact happens it’s the spacer that touches.
It depends on the glasses. I have a large (wide) ones and I had to increase the facepad thickness to 20 mm to avoid scratching the lenses. The critical points are the outer rim tips where the support joins the frame.
I can imagine with a narrow face you won’t have a problem.
