For all of you who like LCD & is ok with current displays there is separate option, don’t mind to use it:
I satisfied with current Pimax overall picture quality (don’t mix with sweet-spot, both eyes focus etc, it’s about colours, contrast, brightness, SDE, pixels patterns/jagged edges, smear etc)
What Pimax needs to do is take their current 4k RGB LCD panels and stack 2 of them to create a dual cell LCD. One panel shows an image in Black and White while the other shows the same color. Pixel level local dimming.
Since Highsense is a Chinese company, Pimax needs to get on it, and acquire permission to use that other company’s IP.
That would give you RGB stripe, decent contrast, and current refresh rates without waiting on expensive OLED panels.
