Direct mode. Why?

Hi,
I wonder if someone can please answer this question for me.

In the Pimax games screen there are three possible modes for Pimax.
Extended, Direct and Pimax modes.

Why is there three modes listed when it is only possible to select two modes. Extended and Pimax modes.

So what is Direct mode and is it of any use today.

Thanks,
Luke

If I’m right the direct mode is now pimax mode, otherwise using with amd graphic card.

@LukeB Below instruction of 3 connective modes of Piplay for your information : )

Extended-mode: One more Screen is extended besides your PC Screen, and the present motion of Screen should be moved to Screen of Pimax. It’s an initial connective mode of VR.
Direct-mode: It could cast display of PC Screen to VR Screen directly which sync with your PC Screen when playing games or watching videos. It’s medium-term connective mode and support small quantity of games.
Pimax-mode: It’s the latest mode, and cast display of PC Screen to VR Screen which sync with your PC Screen when playing games or watching videos.

As you may know, recent NVIDIA drivers have not supported direct mode anymore. If your GPU version among 358.70-362.00, three modes would be listed, else extend mode and Pimax mode only.

Thanks for your replies guys.

So basically with my Nvidia GTX1080 (with latest drivers) I will only see Extended and Pimax modes, but I’m not really missing out on very much.

Cheers,
Luke
