Eating a little crow here. I was pretty confident that the M1 would be given the green light to ship when Pimax said they were confident in it, but it more and more looks like additional tweaks and possibly delays.
Regrettably I have to go on a trip for a few months starting in Late July and it does look like the Pimax 8k will not make it to me by then. If you are interested in the pledge let me know. Mine was for the 8k and controllers
I will not discuss details here in the open, and I am not trusting so I would want payment up front. If that is a problem I understand but I will be unwavering on this part. You will have to be the one to put the trust forward if you want my spot
I am spot 1430 just fyi. You can message me via this forums messaging system if you like. If I make a deal I will post here that it is done.
My kickstarter account I cannot give to anyone as I have my own account that I have created a KS campaign on that never went live but it may someday. We would have to work it out another way by having Pimax xfer the pledge to another KS account or something like that.
I can take it or leave it at this point. So I am not desperate just not excited about it anymore.
If this is your only KS, I recommend doing half up front and then transfer the KS account and then the other half after where both of you contact pimax and verify it is changed over and you can change the address. Friends and Family payments on PayPal will get you zero fees but keeps you from filing for a chargeback which you may want if they turn out to not be trustworthy. I bought an account and that is how I did it. If this is not your first KS then everything needs to be done through Pimax unless you want to lose your kickstarter just make sure to reset the password, address, and payment information if you change this.
I appreciate the info. It is my only backed project but for reasons outlined above I am not selling my KS account. And I will take zero risk, I would require full payment first then with Pimax get the pledge moved. If nobody winds up doing it, that is okay. In that case I guess that I will still have a Pimax 8k in time. Either way works. As I mentioned above the delivery time is now at a point where I would not rec. it before I leave the country for several months. Now my son will be able to enjoy it but all in all he is not the enthusiast I am. I could get a vive pro to hold me over and revisit the pimax8k once it is retail perhaps.
But, either way works. Im just not as excited as I was when I thought I would get to play with the PM8K before my trip
Okay guys I have an interested buyer for my pledge.
Thing is I may get out of VR until the next lineup of second gen headsets are on the market. This means I have 2 vive wands, and 2 base stations I wont need. If anyone wants them you can message me for a good price. I am in the USA so you may not be interested if you are outside of USA because the shipping costs may make it far more expensive than it is worth. I only bring it up because some discussion about someone needing one or more of these things.
Hey guys, Just wanted to let ya’ll know that I bought it. The transaction was quick and easy. This guy is legitimate if you have any doubts. He’s selling a Vive so check him out if you’re interested!
Hi guys - I’m new here, I was also interested about miracle 8k/200fov HMD, and I don’t want to be a troll, but it looks like Pimax… well… screw you over. Paid a lot of money, have a specific promise (date of shipping), and now, a year later, company does not have anything beside words, any perspective to release product - they don’t have final version of prototype yet! Not mentioning, about software problems, tracking, controllers, and the price of entire bunlde… And mass (world-wide) production, and support is s-f. But still many people think they will soon receive the product. Wow! The naivety of people has no limits. And when they finally release their hmd (2020 ?) they will have competition from bigger players (like Oculus/HTC/Samsung).
Sorry, but this is what I think. You want to dream, dream on. But I’m 36 years old, and I’m working in IT for at least 15 years, and I have my opinion. And if anything from what I wrote is untrue, please, show it to me.
The company does have more than just words, many people tried the prototypes and now the M1 units are in the hands of known youtubers specializing in VR (who are not believing this is a fraud).
The entire bundle isn’t that expensive for the backers, it might be for retail buyers like yourself later.
World-wide production means nothing but world-wide shipping, which isn’t rocket science.
Pimax has a very good track record with support on the 4K. Many people get personal assistence setting up their hmd’s when there is a problem.
The M1 is reaching final stages, unless something fixable is way off, production might be sooner than we all think.
The bigger players won’t come out with a comparable headset any time soon.
What are you, what is this - in some kind of cult…? Critical thinking is not allowed? Do and think whatever you want. If Pimax 8k will be in shops I will buy one, for sure… But it is not - and it will not be for a long time. And I feel pity for people who spend hundreds of bucks for this.
I hope you right, sincerely. But I here the same things since 2017. And now, half of 2018 passing by, and… we are in the same point (creating working prototype). And those kind of tests are used for further development (=money, time). So - I still don’t understand where your optimism come from.
