For Pimax engineers.
I know you guys are already building pimax gen2, but I was wondering if you had given thought to a collimated optical display system like the one in this: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/743553284/expanse-virtual-cinema/posts/1685239
A collimated optic (like a flight simulator’s prjection system) trades stereoscopic 3D for much higher resolution and no SDE.) Each eye sees all of the displays pixels. It uses mirrors with anti glare coating.
Since you are going with two 4k panels in gen2, it might be good to use this collimated optical approach in a future version for botth cost and quality reasons. It would allow users to run at a lower render target, but to have the full benefit of a full HD image over a 90 degree FOV or greater.
If you used 2 Collimated optics you could get true steteoscopy over 180 degrees at very high perceived resolution.
