I have seen several videos of the Pimax 8K and the Vive controllers have always been connected with a cable.
Can the Vive controllers be connected wirelessly to the Pimax 8K without a cable to the computer?

Not really… If they say it will work then take their word. Your money is already committed to this project, so just chill and wait.

We used vive controllers wirelessly when we were testing the V3. One of the controllers wasn’t charged so we had to plug it into a portable battery pack, but neither were connected to the PC via any cable.
