Can brainwarp be disabled?

Can brainwarp be disabled, so that it works normally, even though it will then lose the benefits that brainwarping provides?

yes, during the interview portion of the Tested video the Pimax founder said that brainwarp can be disabled by the User

Thanks and thank goodness for that.

I’m having issues with eye strain on the 4K, and I reckon it could be to do with brainwarp. The reason why I think it might be that is because my right eye is weak, very weak. I’m technically one eyed as far as the police and military are concerned (if applying to join those organisations).

It’s more likely to do with the low frame rate (60Hz) of the 4K, which was why they came up with the brainwarp feature in the first place. Brainwarp theoretically doubles the observed frame rate by phase shifting one eye, but it doesn’t improve the situation for either eye (thus the brain part). On the 4K, if I recall correctly, this was done using a separate electronic shutter, and meant the phase shifted eye had increased latency too. The 8K should improve on both frame rate and second eye latency, as it has actual independent displays for both eyes, both running at 90Hz. However, game engines and VR frameworks aren’t designed for alternating frame rendering, which is fairly silly. This means, for shutter glasses and brain warp, patched in stereoscopy as with Vireio Perception and similar might actually function better.

Thanks for the info, LoneTech.

I did originally think it was frame rate related, but on finding our how brainwarp works and the way my eyes are, that it might be that.

Oh well, I hope the 8K or at least the 8K X works for me
