Buy the original 3080/3090 or wait for third party version?

Is it worth buying the original 3080 or 3090 when they are released or would it be better to wait for third parties like MSI, Gigabyte, EVGA, etc to develop their own versions?

Also, I currently have the following setup:

  • i7 8700
  • 2080 Ti
  • Gigabyte Z390 UD motherboard (PCI Gen 3)
  • 850W gold PSU
  • 32GB of Corsair ram clocked at 3200MHz with XMP 2.0

Would I need to replace any parts for a 3090? What about a 3080?

I have lots of space in my PC so I think I can fit the 3090 into 3 slots. I’m not sure if my PC even has 3 slots though. I’ll go take a look.

I would wait until real (VR) benchmarks are available. So far, not all functions of the 2080Ti have been fully unleashed. (DLSS)

i can’t believe Nividia will stick to the high price of the 2080ti until the end and suddenly come with gifts.

DLSS2, which some games support with the RTX 2000 series, sounds quite worth it.
Here is a review and comparison with TAA in Death Stranding.

that is the point with the nice 30xx comparisons, where it was emphasized often enough how great it works with DLSS and Raytrace. Was the 2080ti DLSS activated on the comparison? When I look at the profit to the 1080ti, probably not.

EVGA has announced their cards:

But it’s not available yet for pre-order or puchase.
