I just got my 8kx today ( newbie ) all i got black screen with white dots on it ( like in space )
I tried plugin unplugging USB with different ports ( Reboot ) Reinstall/uninstall
I got the same result !!
My GPU RTX 2080TI
Pitool 264
I install steam VR nothing changed
I run a game ( without steam ) it run on my TV but the HMD the same black light ( I think sound is working )
( I cant setup tracking and controller to complete the installation ) I don’t have yet !
I just wanna play seated games and some movies until I got Index Or Pimax sword tracking/controller
Any help please ( forgive my En )

the issue could be with your display port cable

I have 2 display ports plunging up and down…I got the same results

Actually, I meant replace the cable, not change the port

You mean to buy 8kx display cable
I think pimax has to send me a new cable then

Thanks everyone Its time for return 
For over a year I have been waiting to enjoy the 8kx
But I had a bad experience shipping the Headset
Firstly it was shipping via ( Aramex )
I was paid $ 45 ( magnetic/battery tests and they cant ship it after all )
And delayed the shipment for a month, and then returned it back to Pimax ( alot of fight has been going on with Aramex 
)
Anyway two weeks later Pimax ship it and paid $ 110 ( FedEX )
Finally Its arrived to my country ! ( like 12 days )
Then I was paid $ 120 again for clearance and customs 
And That did not spoil the excitement
But really dose it when I got Home and find out that I have a faulty one 
And now again I have to pay for the return which may cost me Over $ 120
With all the suffering, I do not want the Pimax anymore ( I lost time, money, and most importantly, suffering )

That’s shi…y Pimax. You have to speak out a warning to buy something from them until they have service stations in all over the world to avoid these shipping costs and taxes!

It just bad luck i will get over it but never get Pimax
I already paid around 275$ ( per order 10/31/2019 - just got it 2 days back )
With all struggle for the last year until now
Then again i have to pay for return ( it could be around 120$ or even more )
275$ + 120$ = thats around 400$ already, and if i want it back i will have to pay again 120$ ( clearance ) despite the delay and frustrations to get it back ( it could be faulty again !! )
Thats going over 500$
And thats really crazy ( no way i will ask for replacement - sick already )
Refund whats ever can be saved …

I feel for you. My 5k+ screens went black after the warranty, they offered me to buy a used one for 200$ but I have to pay all the fees ect. That was too risky for me. But I miss my Pimax and I am waiting for repair stations which famous head of Pimax Mr Henderson announced 1 year before. Now I am waiting here in Germany for another headset AGAIN: the Reverb G2 :((
