Hi guys, long time listener, first time caller.
The issue many face: 2-3 month wait on “8k+ Bundle” due to lockdown delivery disruption.
So, I am thinking, what if I
- order the bundle now.
- find a HTC vive controller/sensor set on ebay (or local).
- When/if my HMD arrives in 2-4 weeks, I can play immediately using Vive peripherals (yes?)
- When the controllers & base stations eventually arrive, I can resell the vive gear.
Thoughts? Please offer corrections to any of my errors in timeline or logistics.
Bonus round: would this plan work better or worse if ordering the Valve Index bundle instead? (website also says “ships in 8 weeks”, and while Valve is certainly more reliable on claims, we are in zombie lockdown mode, so…)
Thanks!

From my experiences better to order on Valve! It would be faster!

What country are you located?
I’m in San Diego, CA. 92114
Our level of success delivering to locations in the USA is excellent. I don’t think your wait time would be long at all and your items would be delivered by Amazon FBA.

Which model and date did you order?

What is your destination state in the USA for your order and what did you order? Are you trying to freight forward to Ukraine? If so FBA won’t deliver to freight forwarders.

Yes, I ordered 5K XR to Delaware when it claimed as in stock as it is now!

Pardon me for being suspicious, but your own Amazon store still says “Currently unavailable.
We don’t know when or if this item will be back in stock.”
Also, i’ve read HUNDREDS of complaints about Pimax’s long delivery times.
Can you show me 3 comments from American customers who ordered the 8k+ bundle in Feb or March of this year and have received their FULL order? Then, I might believe you.
Those are not the same. FBA and Amazon store two totally different things. We’ve delivered most of the 8K+ bundles and virtually all of them with destinations in the USA. We are using Amazon FBA not the Amazon store.

ok, please show me comments from 3 or 4 happy customers on any forum who ordered a 8k+ bundle in feb or march of this year and got their full bundle by now . then I will order it today, right now.
How about this - show me a comment from a person with a regular residential address (not a freight forwarder) in the USA who ordered an 8k+ bundle and have not received it.

You are in Finland? We are talking about 8K+ bundles to a residential address in California.

How would I prove that they did or did not freight it forward? I have monitored many chat threads about delivery, and very few comments mention actually getting there full bundle in less than 2 months. So have been waiting for controllers and base stations for 5-12 months…
After that kind of uproar, if customers were suddenly getting timely delivery, I would expect to see them bragging in delight all over this forum.
Or, show me delivery confirmation on 3 orders that show they were ordered in march and delivered before April 9th. Should be easy to do. lol

I got response from Pimax and they promise delivery in 2 weeks, so it is minimal 3 weeks for items which “In Stock”!

66Ton99 we are talking about a residential delivery of an 8k+ bundle to California. You are getting an XR to Delaware (and presumably to a freight forwarder), those take longer as freight forwarders are mostly shut down right now. Also we have to be careful not to deliver Index controllers to restricted regions.

Yeah, from my perspective Pimax do good, innovative tech, but naff at logistics and communications.
I find it particularly odd that we see Pimax leadership appearing to argue with their customers rather than coming up with positive references/stories and owning their issues…
