Been hit with a £415 import charge to UK by FedEx!

I’ve got an invoice from Fedex for my 8KX delivered on 9 September (I paid online, not cash):

Direct Payment Processing fee £12.00
Cash Duty £111.39
Cash VAT £181.47
TOTAL £304.86

I assume if VAT in UK is 20%, then the duty was ~ 11.5% on roughly £900 cost

Mine totalled £415.63. I paid with Paypal 1199 Euros for the headset and 99 Euros for shipping. The link they sent me doesn’t take me to the breakdown anymore so I don’t know to the penny but it was made up of £250 VAT and £150 Duty + processing charge. I spoke to FedEx customer support a week ago and they said they would send me an invoice that would show how they calculated it but they haven’t yet. I don’t understand it at all because my calculation of the VAT on it’s own is only £236 so don’t know how they got to £250.

Are you going to try and get the duty back?

I guess Pimax should stop using FedEx seeing as FedEx are trying to con us into paying charges we dont have to pay!
