Be careful paying with PayPal

I just got stung by PayPal with a really bad exchange rate - making the headset about £40 more expensive than advertised.

I’ve raised the issue with PayPal and all they have said is that they are raising it with Pimax (which is a clear sign that they haven’t even read my query). Just thought I’d warn people.

Yeah, PayPal conversion rates are usually insane. Thats how they make money + take a small fee from the seller.

I used Revolut since 2017, they have better to no rates if i recall. I can recommend it :+1: You can top up in your own valuta and then pay with, for instance dollars or whatever you like. At the moment i have a virtual Visa Card at no cost!

Technically, you can (at each payment) explicitly instruct PayPal to charge your credit card in the seller’s currency (i.e. USD in this case) and pay the conversion rate to your CC company. But you may pay quite a lot this way as well (depending on your CC company).

I agree with @mindscan that Revolut is probably the least expensive (by a large margin).

I ALWAYS select to exchange via my card provider as it’s always cheaper.

I think exchange rates can be easily checked for $ 1:
