Problem is would Pimax be able to keep up with demand? They could sell a truck load of these right now if they were available. I wouldn’t expect them to have excess stock untill mid 2019
Why is this pinned. I watched nerdgasm when he first got the vive. Good times. He and several others would be great to sample the 8k or 5k.But I think it would be better when or closer to when the product is available to at least pre order.
I told him on stream that he could hop on here to talk to Pimax. Its pinned so its easy to find. If Barnacules tries it, you know Jay will see it. Also, Barnacules’ VR content is always awesome.
As a backer myself… if he’s not a backer, let him get in line like the rest of us!!!
Why wouldn’t Pimax want more exposure for their product? Barnacules has many subscribers, almost 1 milliom people, a good system, and a descent setup for sims. If anyone should try it, he should. I mentioned it on stream with 400 people watching, so more potential customers is not a negative.
I could provide many reasons… and Barnacules is just one of many youtubers… the youtubers that were selected to beta-test the Pimax and give reviews were all BACKERS as was the requirement that Pimax themselves insisted upon.
Yeah i am a backer to and before anyone else gets his hands on the 5K+ or 8K i want my Unit first i payed to be first in line. If they want to do reviews they can do so when it is time for consumer release than i don’t care because i can do the testing on my own device.
As a backer, you are going to get your headset soon, so I would chill out. Barnacules hadn’t even heard of the Pimax, so if he shows up, and wants to try it, and it doesn’t affect you, then what is the issue?
So because Barnecules hasn’t paid and waited almost a year to get the HMD like us backers, he somehow should be allowed to get ahead of the line??? I DON"T THINK SO!!!
I don’t care about Barnacules i payed to get the Unit first before anyone else he gets behind me in line simple as that…

I did take the risk and now he has to wait till all the backers received their Units and thats around early next year.
Who says he should get ahead in line? HE SHOULD TRY IT! Does that say anything about you getting your headset later? Didn’t think so.
Are you backer? Let him have your backer # if it’s that important to you!!! It’s not like Pimax has all these spares lying around to give out.
He doesn’t get to to keep it you know. The M2 reviewers have stated that they will get their consumer versions and return the test units. Why do you care what happens to those test units afterwards?
Pimax is a business, and if they believe in their product then this is just good advertising.
Yes indeed. Great advertising, particularly for people who like sim racing, rally racing, 3D printing, and a host of other interests.
I think there is a worry that once these start getting sent out to youtubers etc. Then this will set a precedent and open the floodgates for many more in the name of marketing. There is a huge list of potential people that goes into double figures,triple even. I think people want pimax to focus on those who supported them first before they reach out to the wider audience.
Pimax made a deal with me on Kickstarter i fulfilled my part of the deal already 1 year ago, since they are now ready to fulfill their part i don’t care what others want they have to wait.
Would recommend Bookmark as pinned topics don’t stay always at the top. It seems.
