This issue was present at first with the 8k and was fixed with later version of pitool/firmware but looks like the Artisan is suffering of the detection issue.
Even with the 8K I was able to make it detected by Restarting service, unplugging it, turning it off but no way with the Arti, I have to reboot my computer if it is not detected.
If I turn it on after my PC booted or after using it, if I turn it off, I have to reboot to make it detected again.
Well, IT IS detected but LED remain RED and screen black.
After a reboot everything it fine.
But this is seriously annoying.
I did everything right, just in the dfudriver directory the firmware did not support artisan, there may be support in the current Pitool, but I don’t want to check =)
and now the actual reason why I decided to reinstall the firmware. I understood the settings of the helmet and in Pitool I pressed the reset button to the factory settings and after that my helmet stopped working correctly in 90Hz mode (the image is very dark and blinking) but this problem still exists, but I really wait for a new artisan part do rma.
Any solution to this? Got my artisan today, it worked fine. Switched back to the index. Then back to the Artisan and now it doesn’t detect anymore. Tried:
It sounds like it might be a cable issue. Have you tried reseating the connection where the cable meets the headset? Pull firmly while gently rocking connector, until it loosens a bit (comes out a few mm), then push it back on, until it’s firmly seated.
