Apology for the delays with Kickstarter campaign

Having been burnt on a couple of kickstarters just disappearing with the money, I appeciate that even with all the problems, you have actually made a great product and started shipping it, and it will only get better as you are willing to improve.

Thanks for the update! I’m glad you put quality control first, and it’s good to know that you’re getting on top of the issues.

Great news! Lets get the spreadsheet up. I would rather see that my headset is awaiting to be tested for 2 weeks or more then knowing nothing at all. Seeing a slow progression with an anticipated delivery will lead to a greater enthusiasm rather then frustration. If this is clearly shown to the remaining backers then this will be one of your greatest accomplishments along with developing the headset in its self. I believe a majority of the backers have been extremely patient and this will provide a lot of relief and ensure more patients on our part. I myself would also appreciate a clear explanation of (PiTool) software goals and progress. I would be willing to wait even longer for the headset if clear advancements in software were apparent. This would also give those already with their headsets anticipation for future updates and features. Keeping us enthusiasts excited will lead to great success in your company. This is by far some of the best news and a clear picture of things to come will reduce a lot of stress and make waiting enjoyable. Thank you!

@Sean.Huang
Nice to learn it is moving on and getting more transparent!
What about 8KX? Do you already have any plans or estimates?
What kind of screens will be used in KX?
Do you have estimates for the lighthouses and controllers?
Any bits of info would be greatly appreciated!

Please ensure that you do not reveal any personal data such as names, address as this will be causing an issue with GDPR.

I would suggest to only show backer number, unit selected, status , when was it shipped, when to expect delivery

Are you guys also producing (BE) edition units? Since I upgraded my 8k for one. Or these are units that will be made later in the year?

This has been my mantra to Pimax for months now… very glad that the message has finally been received.

Much needed update. Thanks. Looking forward to seeing these words backed up. :+1:

@Sean.Huang

An equivalently frank update on Lighthouse, Controller, and stretch goal accessories status would also be very much appreciated.

Thanks for the links. I think a recent update in the same vein would also be welcome by the community.

Indeed even with these being recent. When time permits maybe sometime after Jan 9 CES will be able to put a more formal update. :beers::sunglasses::+1::sparkles:

That’s a nice very informative and honest post and its good to see you appreciate the good and the negative feedback. I think the backers who are still waiting for their headsets will appreciate this post. Good work :slight_smile:

I agree. I do not want my name and adress spreaded on internet. So baker number, model selected, date of adress update, week planned for production, week realized for production, week planned for shipping, week realized for shipping should be great.

Ha i knew it!!! #3 When they were on Tested and Norm was asking if they were going to use 2.0 tracking and knuckles style controllers it seemed like that wasnt the plan.

Robin was just saying yes to everything due to language barrier.

They were planning to ship with vive clone controllers and tracking 1.0.

I blame Norm a bit because knuckles was in early prototype stage and should have known that a third party wouldnt have access to that at such an early stage.I mean the knuckles now are completely different than they were last year and the whole trackpad vs joystick debate is a non issue now and I feel pimax needs delay the controllers and redesign to match knuckles AFTER the knuckles are released, as they are trying to hit a moving target as is.

Also im was pretty sure that Valve isnt going to let pimax release with 2.0 trackers and knuckles before they released it themselves. which is kind of misleading because if i knew we would be getting these controllers After knuckles officially released I would have just ordered the headset.

Im happy we are getting what we are getting but these guys had no solid plan when they showed it on Tested.

I’m currently trying to make sure I don’t get the 8K, if I end up getting it anyway I will swap you.
