Yes - the infinitely rolling jog wheel, on digital car stereos, which relatively increments and decrements a volatile register, which in turn starts up at a preset level (…in some cases a user preference, or the last known level retained in RAM or NVRAM), when waking the stereo from sleep mode, as opposed to something with end stops and a definite range of physical movement between them, which needs to pick up its real-world position from zero prior knowledge. :9
