If you have the 3D printed hinges and top strap pieces, first remove the SMAS (the hinges unclip rather easily): Attach the DAS strap to the hinges and then clip them onto the bar. Insert the top strap 3D printed piece and thread the top strap through it. Plug it in and you’re good to go.
I just played a bit with Koss KPH30i’s.
They fit fine under the SMAS and are good enough for me until I receive the DMAS (I have lots of other headphones).
I ended up retrofitting my old vive DAS onto the 8kx because fitting headphones on over top of the comfort kit strap was really uncomfortable. The speaker housings are huge.
dude…
Aptx huge difference maker. I have a woojer vest and it supports aptx but i made the mistake of pairing it to a regular Asus BT-400 Dongle and the lag was insane.
Bought one of these and poof lag gone

boom 3d eh? your shilling it quite hard. Are you the author? lol
@BNP if Boom 3d can do it that means it is possible for PE to as well, but as you say might take some Carmack Margic programming.
This is why open sourcing this would be so much better, there could be a passionate carmack level guy lurking these forums who happens to know everything about Windows Audio Api.
AptX LL (low latency) makes a huge difference… There, fixed it for ya…
Not all AptX devices support LL.
I’ll grab one of those, thanks.
Haha no I’m not the author. It just works really well and I figured I’d share it. It’s that good. I paid for the software a few years ago because it works so well. It really improves the Pimax sound by a decent amount.
Each speaker has its own jack correct? So if you go with an aftermarket headset and you plug it into just the L or R jack, will you only get the sound from that L or R side?
Your headset also must support aptx LL.
Both dongle and headset.
Using my Audeze Mobius via BT, fits comfortable enough if not ideal.
Isn’t it a night and day difference?
I tried using my Astro A50’s but wasn’t very comfortable, for now my B&O Beoplay H9 are connected to the SMAS using a few zip ties to position them perfectly, and the short right-angled USB C to C cable that came with the useless eye-tracker is perfect to connect the audio wired without any bluetooth lag.
Looking forward to receiving the DMAS so I can liberate my headphones, but I’m not going out much so this is fine until then! Can’t be bothered with the vive DAS mod, they are staying on my 5K XR for the foreseeable…
looks like a workable solution.
giving you a like just because of the woojer.
It paired up with the bt on my trx40 motherboard, latency is good - be sure to set it to speakers, not wireless earpiece though - that goes to mono with no bass - took me a while to figure that one out. =)
I’ve tried a lot of other buzzer vests, but the woojer is the best & definitely makes stuff more fun if they have a good audio mix.
if you can try listening to the song “Reactor” from the Foraaken Game Soundtrack. its good.
Also Vertigo Remastered is excellent with it. Especially early in the game when you are in the ventilation.
I plugged my Logitech G635 via 3.5mm jack on the left and the audio was terribly quiet and only provided left audio. I tried doing the balance and lowering the volume of the right did nothing while lowering the volume of the left lowered both sides of the headset. What am I missing here? This is clearly not a solution.
What if I use a micro usb to usb c cable to connect it to the front, will this give me the full audio with 7.1 surround?
