I find that for simply playing pancake games on a virtual 3d screen which I will be mostly staring directly at in front of me, it doesent matter so much having a large FOV and small still feels twice as big as other headsets.
Having owned Pimax 5k+ for a couple of years I generally like to play as large an FOV as possible because without the FOV it felt like there was nothing special about the headset.
With the 8KX I will make exceptions now because of its enormous resolution. Even if I am in small (again which is still larger than any other headset) I still gain the advantage of resolution. So it still is mind blowing.
Did you have to do anything like apply the ignore fullscreen registry hack to allow games to be played in a borderless window rather than requiring they run in fullscreen exclusive mode?
My 5600X is idling at 36°C and just only one core running puts it at 55°C, when all cores are taxed (e.g. in a compilation) it reaches 72°C easily. So yours is pretty cool .
