I have tried with supersampling at the minimum settings. I’m only running the steamvr home. So if I still get ghosting, well…
Just fired it back up to make sure I didn’t miss something so simple. I was running 90hz at 5ms with a constant 90fps. Definitely panel persistence. Hopefully this can be fixed. I don’t mind 110hz having it as I didn’t pay for 110hz, but at 90hz is unacceptable.
Please PM me your full serial number as that might be a factor. I’ll add that to the team meeting next week for analysis.
Hi Kevin. Can I ask how the production of the X is progressing? Well I hope. Sorry off topic.
It was really slow when it started on the 25th, first day was glacial. It’s amazing how much better it’s moving along now. So my answer would be “well” now but first ones moving through the process were frustrating.
Thank you for the reply Kevin. Good to hear the line is running well now.
I can produce it also, if relevant I can also supply the serial.
But I alsoanage to run without ghosting, so not sure what is doing the magic.
So you can run 110hz without ghosting? 90hz I can understand people missing it, especially if you just jump into a game. But not at 110hz
I just tried it again last night shortly with 55 FPS in ACC BUT only tested in the SteamVR area where the game Titel floats in front of you. Not steam VR Home.
I did try 110hz before a Lot since I got the firmware for testing a bit before 260 release and then I did not notice it. When it happens it seems to be impossible to really miss so I wonder why I don’t get it all the time. On the other hand int SteamVR Home where I saw it I was hitting 110hz in most of the time (seemed to jump a bit below and up again).
We need to compare the settings we have I guess. I will try to provoke it tonight and see what I have set.
Hello MReis,
you have mentioned that you had FW260 on your 8k+?
I cant even run that as i get double vison on the screen.
I had to revert to 255, and now on 264.
There has to be differences in the released products? other wise i dont understand how multiple firmwares have different results for different people.
I wish pimax would just state where theyare at with things…its almost like all the batches are engineering samples
I would buy another unit if they have made steps forward.
I had the alpha firmware and a release candidate which seems to be the one that made it into the latest pitool. So yes that worked without trouble. I had similar issues with the alpha FW. The latest runs without problems, except that 110hz has strong ghosting at least in some settings. Maybe as bespoke before something is still not optimal when driving the panel at that speed, missing black frame or something.
