8k+ full bundle review after 2+ weeks

Hi,

I just wanted to say that my 8k+ works perfectly. I received everything including the base stations and controllers in ~3 weeks(Canada). I have had 0 problem with controller tracking or base stations so far(didn’t have to change channels or anything). Everything worked great out of the box.

I really love the FOV compared to my Rift S and playing Dolphin VR with it is the most fun I’ve ever had by myself. It’s totally worth it. It blows the Rift S away.

There is literally 0 SDE. The only imperfection in the screen is what I think is the anti-glare coating which can be visible if you focus on it while moving your head on light colors. It is not a big problem to me and I can’t see it unless I focus on it. It is also invisible on darker colors.

I love the hmd so much that I just pre-ordered the 8k X and will probably sell my 8k+ once it arrives.

Also I wanted to thank the Pimax support team for answering all my question quickly(under 24h) and even refunding my previous 5k+ order when I decided to upgrade to the 8k+ with no hassle.

That’s great news! Do you notice any distortion on the edges? Was this your first Pimax headset?

Hi, yes it is my first Pimax headset. I can see the distortions on the edges if I am looking for them but cannot see them if I look in the middle even while moving my head. I only play on large fov. :slight_smile:

My PC:
gpu: 2080ti
cpu: 9900k
mobo: z390 dark

Pitool version: V2020.3.24

I added <“maxRecommendedResolution” : 16384,> to the steamvr.vrsettings file.

Very interesting,

You have the same PC of @SweViver

and z390 dark does not have leds but has a lot of RED USB PORTS with two USB controllers

They are both “OK factors” for stability
