5K+ USB port problem

I used to be able to connect a third-party Watchman Dongle to the headset itself by using the USB port in the headset.

Now, if I try the device is listed as “Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed)”.

Has anyone ever encountered this problem? Could this be a firmware issue?
