5k+ Serial 203/204 Beta Firmware.. how big is FOV in 144Hz mode?

I’m on PT 255 and FW 255 running 120hz in “normal” and it feels small compared to what I am used to (I usually game on normal 90hz). So apparently I have to roll back to PiTool 197 to get the larger 120hz view? Annoying…what am I losing from 255 by going back to 197 I can’t even keep track anymore.

Ok I am on PT 258 and FW 263 now. For some reason when you switch to 144hz the IPD is messed up. I have to offset it to +5 for it not to be crosseyed and I am still not sure if it is perfect. (Normally I run IPD at 60 with 0 offset). Also always the edges of the screens do different things. Every FOV change or refresh rate change and the edges have different shape or levels of warping or flicker or pop in or blur effect or whatever. Anyways its all peripheral so I don’t really care either way and only notice when looking for it. Was hoping the refresh rate would be more noticeable in racing games but I think my FPS took a hit so I see more ghosting. I have catalyst at 0 and haven’t messed with it much I play too many games. I still need to a lot more testing but I will stay on this setup for now. My problem is I like to game more than I like to test so I just get it where its good enough and then when I’m playing I notice things and say I should test to see if I can improve that but then I’m like eh, keep playing for now haha

Pretty much the same issue for me.
my IPD is 60-61.

The profiling is off from what i noticed.
And on my right lens, seems to be off aligned a little when using 144hz.

why we been waiting over a month for a fix…still nothing.

This seems to be fixed in the new PiTool 259

I don’t see a thread or any change log for this release but i just installed it and 144hz has the IPD issue fixed now for me at least.

But…of course there is always a downside. The screen seems to be quite dark/dim in PiTool 259 though.

FoV in 144Hz mode is now 140 degress (“normal” FoV) at least on my 203600* week 2, 2019 5K+.

I agree, the displays are dimmed but is the due to pitool version or the new firmware maybe.

Normal FoV 120hz = 126 degrees
why smaller than at 144Hz

They probably forgot to update that too?

The Screen is dim/darker.
I’m on the new .259 pitool and FW(264), using the 144hz.

Screen dim fix thanks to KingTodd. Install PT 144, change backlight to high, reinstall 259.
