Guess they need the preorder dollars to pay for material to continue KS production 
Sadly it wouldn’t shock me at this point.
Bigger quantities = better prices
Hope they soon have a steady supply of suitable quality components
and can get assembling , i doubt that cash is the main issue but knowing how many items to order will be a great help .
Tricky with these sort of components I would imagine because new better components are always becoming available
