See, this is the problem. If they were talking about “dead pixels” all along, why would they suddenly decide to replace units with dead pixels? They already were doing RMAs for dead pixels for months now. It’s very clear that Pimax knew exactly what the black dot issue was, but quickly backpedaled from replacing them because of the amount of backers who wanted replacement.
It’s probably way too costly for Pimax to commit to replacing 1000+ 5K units with black dots. That’s understandable, what’s not understandable is them making an offer and then retracting it, and then pretending that wasn’t the offer all along. At least be transparent with us, you would buy yourself some good will by not attempting to deliberately mislead at every turn.
