5K BE OLED version has A LOT more Screen Door Effect when compared to the the normal 5K+ , This is worrying?

Disagree with you fully. They should offer it for there is plenty people like me that rather have better colors than less screendoor. The world doesn’t run on personal opinions, there is are different demographics

i really didn’t see that much of a difference in thermes of colours and i have the right to express my opinion , nothing to do with how the world rules, chill out.

I disagree! Psvr has the best anti sde tech someway better than Odyssey + because resolution aside it looks totally RGB. Its lenses are almost perfect for it FOV, so comfortable fit etc…

We just needed a similar experience with 30 percent more FOV than Rift and 20 percent more than Vive with PSVR level of lenses, no godrays, and best black levels…

So for non of the PC VR options delivering it, I think gen1 VR rounddown is hands up goes to PSVR with its pros and cons.

There is a big difference from the 8k to an Oled. I really hated the 8k color reproduction Also, Most reviews will state that there is a big difference on blacks. Now, if you are in the less SDE camp, for sure get the 5k+. I like dark games, so blacks are important

I like dark games too, but the SDE is even more important to me. Even the 8K has SDE that is all to visible. This is still the early years of VR; compromises must be made. In another 10 or 20 years, VR will be much better.

Finally someone is being realistic. We need the photo-realistic content and the hardware to drive it and it’s still not enough for the total immersion.

All too true. We’ve already come a long way, from my first VR experiences back in the '90s. (320x240 and 640x480 headsets with ~60° FOV.)

Yeah someone new to todays VR testing a VR game the first time is paralyzed by the cliff he sees in the game, but play it a few times the impression is gone. Total immersion would need more than the visual VR.
It’s fun though and a huge step from the 2D gaming, but not really immersive.

I had the h3d glasses back in the day

My guess is that the OLED panels have lower resolution, just like they had on the 4K.
The reward is that you get deeper blacks though…

I agree with you, don’t know if you trued both but for me was just like black was around 20% better and SDE 50% more present.
Also didn’t like the saturation level on BE/XR.
Reason i said about not offering to costumer is more for the fact that many preorders have contacted me on Facebook telling ma they ordered XR/BE after seeing MRTV’s first review stating SDE was better than Vive pro and its clearly not.Now i clearly understand the fact that some user will prefer “Better colours” over “less SDE”.

I tried the 8k. I like saturated colors than muted ones. The fact that there are multiple unit options is actually good. I will also likely to the HP Reverb for pixel density

thinking in Hp Reverb too.
Parallel Projection is big downside for me atm.

Let’s agree to disagree then (^_~ )
I have tested Odyssey+, so I can only give my opinion on PSVR, which for me is a blurry mess (lower rez obviously doesn’t help for the comparison). Probably depends on people’s taste, since some prefer a smooth but blurrier image, than a sharp but aliased one.

If I end up sending my 5k+ back because of the cracks I am going to ask if I can change it to a 8k so I can get just a little less SDE .

it’s like having a mosquito net in front of you all the time…
