Okay, looking at that object on the floor makes it appear the drain should be at least partially visible in the Rift distance floor shot or at least part of the puddling around the drain as seen in the 4K floor shot at least.
Anyhow agreed this would be a better test. I will try and get some 4K shots.
We are talking about through the lens pictures, right?
The RoV FoV tool as @IG88 might be best.
More preceived distance clarity between headsets.
Using RoVâs FoV tool we can measure distance clarity. The screen/lenshot would be for reference only. In this case screenshot better. Lense hots too difficult without proper equipment.
How do I move with this tool? My controller doesnât seem to be responsive in any way?
Not sure depending on tool version might have control to unlock movement(need to d/l install) one is steamvr environment (might need tosracking)
I really like your approach @RobCram because itâs just what will haben in reall virtual life ;-). The clinical approach is also good, but we would need to be able to switch backgrounds and text colors in the test room.
The 8k seems to do bad with black on white text, other Szenarios seem not to bad and even better now with the update. ( gathering all the reviews and stuff I got). Black on white is no problem for the 5k+ But sde can start to bother.
I think we wonât be able to make this black n white. Both are good but different.
Edit your not sour - sorry Saturday was intense;-)
Yeh I am using the standalone version.
Not as accurate butâŚwhere I marked in red is the last point of detail I can read from default starting position which is locked. The blurriness of how it looks on the forum without clicking it in the preview, is very representative of what I see in the headset in terms of clarity. The F in particular being hard to not confuse with a T. I will test the same with the Rift. Bear with me.
Rift is definitely worse but perhaps not as much as you would think which means this test isnât as clear cut as the real world raw test with Transference. Donât ask me why that is but it could be due to the clinical nature of this test with such a white background and black text. Anyway, where I have marked I can clearly make out the letters, the next row not so much. I can make out vaguely what they could be but not confidently like I could with the 4K. The P could be a T and the E a C.
If either the 8K or 5K+ can read the line below that, then I would say that is mightily impressive. @sweviver @mixedrealityTV @VoodooDE
4K Test at default starting position
RIFT Test at default starting position.
Loving the practical approach with real (virtual) world scenarios. direct apples to apples comparisons help a lot for those of us that have at least one of these HMDs.
YEA I WOULD SEE THIS TEST WITH THE PIMAX 8K AND 5KPLUS⌠so @SweViver this is a good one for youâŚ
Yeah, i will play that again with 8k.
@mixedrealityTV better is the test what @RobCram mentioned
