2560X1440 support, but how?

Hey everyone, sorry if this has been brought up, but I can’t find it. I have installed Piplay on 2 different computers in case that made any difference. If I go to the device tab there is no box to check to force 25601440 mode. The only box I can check is for 19201080. Does this mean the default is 25601440 or am I just missing something? I have also enabled the beta versions just to see if that made any difference and it doesn’t seem to. The reason I am curious about all this is because everyone i have researched talking about this says there is no screen door effect on the PiMax. While it may be a bit better than on the Rift there are definitely visible pixels on mine. I wanted to see if I can force 25601440 in case that fixes the problem.

Also does the firmware auto update with Piplay? Otherwise where do I update it?

Any advice would be awesome. Thanks.

Correct. In v1.1.92 the default is 1080p and that version has a checkbox for 1440p. You might want to try that version as it has higher quality than v1.2.x. But again, keep in mind that version defaults to 1080p, so you need to change it.

Sure, you’d probably need 8k per eye to completely solve SDE. But it’s a huge improvement over the Rift. Also see: http://community.openmr.ai/t/comparsion-sde-pimax-4k-vs-htc-vive-vs-oculus-cv1/1989.[quote=“Tangent, post:1, topic:1995”]
