Am I the only one who wonders why is no one is making any content on YouTube with the Pimax 8k X and Plus? Vrgamerdude Sebastian Sweviver VoodooDE where are you??? I understand China is in lockdown but it feels such a shame the excitement from CES has fizzled to nothing. I understand the delay and my concern is for lives not a HMD but some videos or pictures would be good. Not reviews as I understand it’s work in progress. Pimax send a 8KX to ludixs and maybe a few others from the forum if possible. What do you say?

I concur. There needs to be more content on the 8KX and 8K+ soon.

The problem seems to be that Pimax hasn’t yet produced the final “shipping” headset yet. It’s possible there are software issues to straighten too. And of course, everything is delayed due to the coronavirus.

Indeed. You may recall the slightly bizarre episode between Marcin (Sweviver) and Sebastian (MRTV).
As long as the 8KX, if delivered to any Youtuber other than Marcin at all, and the 8K+ are covered by an NDA not being lifted for a proper review, the Youtubers are probably holding back on any videos just in order to avoid a repeat of the above-mentioned episode…

Obvisouly the only thing we know for sure is that there are no such reviews. Hence why I wrote “probably”… 
We have no information which of the Yotubers have received an 8K+, while we can be quite sure that none of the independent Youtubers have been supplied with an 8KX yet as it still seems to be a bit of a work in progress, for reasons I do not know (is it the refresh rate they are trying to push higher, the cable, who knows). So that may be the simplest reason for not having any reviews from them - but even if they have been supplied with either of them they may be under restrictions from Pimax.

Even during CES Pimax was mostly ignored by the mainstream VR media. For now Pimax is still an outlier and a risk to most people. Until they can prove themselves(Which I have high hopes for with the 8kx) most will ignore them. Besides UploadVR, who are always down to write a hit piece, doubly so now knowing they can get a rise out of certain Pimax employees who will publicly get into fights with them further drawing attention to them.

The 8KX is still not final and therefore no reviews.
Me myself was planning for a whole bunch of videos but had to delay everything as Im travelling in Germany right now doing work. As far as I know, MRTV has got a new agreement/NDA to do Pimax videos now. Not sure why he is not.
Im sure there will be much more content available soon, and i will continue once Im back home next week.
As for full reviews, Im sure we wont see any until late March or early April once the final first batch is made, together with MAS.

Did the initial 20 or so units referenced during the MRTV pre-CES interview that were supposed to be shipped the week after CES not go out?

I think they were delayed because of some external parts they wanted to change from plastic to metal or something

By now, I might be about ready to do some YouTube videos on the 8kX myself. Given the recent delays added to production, I was already starting to think this might be important.

Well, clearly there is more interest than I expected! So, maybe by the end of the week I will put up some video. If possible I will also show off some of the software infrastructure I use to integrate VR things, though most people will probably only use parts of it.

I have not yet received the documents that would allow me to do videos about 8K X/Artisan. But I was told that I would receive them soon. Once I receive those documents, I will let the community know.

hey @SweViver! could you please check this issue, why Seb still (!) didn’t get this paper? it shouldn’t be so hard and timeconsuming to send a copy again (mail/fax).
