Who has stable LH 2.0 tracking on 8Kx 😀

Is this with 3 basestations?

The thing is, if you look at the Index measurements, ours looks horrible:

2pcs. LH 2.0’s…

Yes… Yes indeed they do look horrible, and that’s why I intend to keep helping/assisting Pimax as much as I can with my setup to fix the issue :grinning:

Yeah, well, mine is with 3… with 2 it’s even worse.

JitterTest with 2pcs. LH 2.0s
@Milopapa Jeez, my 5K+ and 2pcs. LH2.0 is better than even your 8Kx and 3pcs. LH2.0 :disappointed_relieved:

8Kx

5K+ exact same LH 2.0 setup

No wonder I think my 8Kx is worse… it’s practically twice as bad… horrible for a $1300 device

I’ve updated my ticket accordingly, which Vivi wanted to apparently close with this remark.
Dear Martin Ahlefeld,

Sorry for the trouble. Regarding tracking issue, our R&D department is trying to fix this issue. It might be addressed by software. Can you wait for some time? Once we get the solution, we will let you know. Is that ok?

Best regards,

Vivi

Yep, I got the same message from support.
Let’s hope this gets enough traction.

I strongly encourage everyone with tracking issues on the 8K-X to log a ticket and add your voice to the discussion. It seems it’s a systemic issue with the 8K-X and we need Pimax to focus on this.

Hi all,
I now meet the preconditions defined by the OP to post here (see also previous posts above).
I realize that I am late to the party. Still thought it might be good to share.

I have received my 8 KX now and can confirm that it has the same jitterer/judder issue as the previous 8K Plus and Vision Artisan I owned. Only the older 5K XR is rock stable in that respect.
I own Lighthouse 2.0 from HTC (came with Vive Pro) and run Firmware 3008.

I am thankflul for the OP to address this here and it was a smart way to make Pimax aware of it. I just wonder if someone also reached out to Valve and addressed it from that side. In the end both companies are involved (Pimax: Headset, PiTool; Valve: Base Stations, SteamVR).

Something strange happened to me today, my v2 lighthouse did not want to start so ended up starting steam vr then turn off headset when steam vr was on then the basestation started but then when I started headset and game teh BS went in sleep mode again. Light is green but sensors off. Anyone have any idea what it can be?

Had a good remote session with Doman Chen, uploaded new tracking firmware. Much better!

How did you get in touch? Did you open a support ticket?

Yeah, opened a ticket. Described issue, linked to this forum thread, provided a short video detailing lighthouse setup & software versions / lighthouse channels. Showed HMD stationary and ran jitter test on video etc. Doman picked up the ticket and asked to do a TeamViewer session

Thanks, I’ll get in touch with them.
