The best concert i saw was judas priest/iron maiden 1980 arconvention hall on jersey shore… only seats 3600…memories

a man of great taste! I got my first maiden album (lp) at the age of 6 from my uncle, had to hide it from my mum though. Eddie was kinda less cute 32 years ago. Fortunaly I didn’t need time to think to get the memory from my mind.
Saw Manowar live ages ago great Show, but honestly I went to the concert because of the opening band Gamma Ray (Kai Hansen former Halloween),
which followed the tradition of best powermetal made in Germany.

too bad you cant listen to Rob’s voice anymore, everything one octave down and outta tune.
If I had to vote for the best metal album ever released though it would be Painkiller of JP for sure. Every track on the album kicks some serious butt. And now I better shut up before I get dizzed for going too deep off topic again. Anyway nice too see that some plp around here love real music that much and care about it.

I saw Painkiller tour as well…and your right anout Halford…saw them like 5 yrs ago and he just wasnt able to hit high notes …father time is undefeated as they say…

I have but only the one track (carry on), bands like the gallows . Alexisonfire ,solefly,carcase,leftside brain ,armon armouth and mainstream like korn slipnot anthrax and so on is what i tend to listern to ,my son is liking baby metal but i think its hormonal

I hope we’ll get a software solution to just adjust fov to what we want. So black bars can be increased at the sides in software, potentially making it a normal 110 fov headset for games that don’t work well with wider views. And also a way of decreasing GPU load for weak puny systems. Like a resolution decrease solution but in pixel real estate.
Ah yes, making the 8K also a native resolution 4K @ 110 fov.
A 4KX if you will.
That would be awesome , I would probably opt to run stuff in 150 fov with more SS if it were possible ,

Could it be possible on the 5K even the 8k though it could depend when the image is upscaled , last process I would have thought . Just a software fix

I feel like an asshole for saying this but if you want 110 degree fov you picked the wrong headset.
If you want a headset that will run on a 970 you picked the wrong headset.
If they have time after launch and want to play with this idea, they can knock themselves out. But i honestly dont want them to spend a moment of their time looking into this until after launch and i dont want the launch delayed to accommodate it. We all know the headset we signed on for.

I don’t want any delays either, and this isn’t implied either. A software feature can be created any time in the future.
It could also sell more units if people fear their system might not be good enough but they plan on upgrading later but want to own the 8K sooner

sure, and like i said, as long as it does not detract from the timeline and their resources pre launch i dont mind.
But to me this is like a bunch of people kickstarting a supercar with high speed and fuel usage, and then suggesting that it should be able to run in a very fuel efficient mode for people who may want to own a supercar but cant afford to drive it fast. It would be neat. absolutely. is it what i signed up for, honestly no.

You signed up for a 200 fov headset. Not a super GPU. And since the quality of the roads have a large impact on the speed of our supercar, it would be nice if the car can run well on sandy roads when we ride there, and we will ride there too. Not everyone owns multiple headsets for all different occasions. And again, this is merely a software option, it won’t delay anything by thinking about the possibility
from day 1 , minspec on this device was advertised as gtx 1070. so we did sign up to needing a super gpu. I will be upgrading to a 1180 when it comes out because i dont want to run the pimax at minspec.

but to be clear, on the terms you lay out where it wont cause delays etc i dont care if they do it.
