Ok I’ve seen a few people with this question but have not seen a definite answer.
If I want to get the 8K-X but also want to have the 8K to use until the X is released then WHICH TIER DO I CHOOSE? If anyone has gotten a definite answer from Pimax I would appreciate some clarification. As of now I have backed the 8K-X $699 tier. Do I have to move up to the full package 8K-X tier ($999)? Or can I just back the regular 8K tier and trade it in when the 8K-X is available? I have seen lots of talk of surveys being sent out when the project is fully backed but I don’t want to back the wrong tier and then be left out in the cold. Any details that anyone has would be appreciated.
The 699 8k-X is just the headset the 999 tier is the 8k-X with 2 controllers & 2 base Stations.
@deletedpimaxrep1@PimaxVR can you clarify the deal on tier/backer level that receives reg 8k model then swap to 8k-X? Is it all 8K-X backer levels? Or just Early bird 8K-X tiers?

Something very unnerving for the numerous non X backers:
Will you add upscaling function in X version?
X is a limited edition (only 400 units globally). We are working with our graphic card partner to customize the headset for the new graphic card.
i.e. X version is designed for the next generation graphic card, other than old gen graphic card.
Pimax has stated in the past that 8K backers could update to the X but the above does not correlate.
There are too many non X backers who may get an unwelcomed result.
