What are the best wired earphones for VR?

Yeah the HD25 were great and also good value. Just grew out of the formfactor for 8 hours+ mixing sessions. I think it’s genious to try to mount those somehow to an HMD since, honestly I‘m no fan of additional headphones (hustle of extra cables and mixing with the strap) for VR. I think it is most practical to have them already mounted and connected to whatever strap you use.
I was ok with the DAS (AKG?) for practical reasons and the sound was ok. But taking the 25s instead is a great option with some sound improvement. AKG Headphones are somewhat in the idea of Yamaha NS10.
They sound nice, but not polished. The advantage is that they do not tire you out which is great for creative work but also when listening to many dialogs. If a sound is „too good“/sweet it really can wear you out in some (very) certain scenarios.

Just received a pair of Final Audio E500’s.

So far, I’m really impressed by the soundstage and they seem to have plenty of “body” and think they’ll do very well for VR (or gaming in general).

Tested them a bit with Dr. Chesky’s Ultimate Headphone Demonstration Disc.

I’ll keep You posted after more time with them (spent on gaming)… :wink:

P.S. First impressions of the E500’s are they are a bit thin sounding and flimsy feeling. It’s hard to get a good fit for me so I ended up using my RY4S earbuds yesterday instead… :upside_down_face:

Their surround sound is pretty amazing and the headset has a built in amplifier (a good one), I am using a pair currently having previously been someone who considered themselves a Sennheiser fan. Planars are great and I will not be changing back to regular audio drivers any time soon.

Haha… :smiley: Yeah, they’re epic. And they even kept their weird (but different) writing on their new BL-05’s (not exactly the same package, but almost so it was an active choice)… :wink:
