they said 100 by day in end october we are 3 by day…it’s very annoying, last backer will have his headset in 2021…
Even if they manage to increase their current production rate by 100% that only means 6 working units per day average
Let’s no kid ourselves, Pimax aren’t exactly being honest with us. They haven’t just had a faulty batch of casings, they’re having a number of problems at the moment
I still don’t understand this “our shipping partner has given us 26 shipping numbers” type of comment.
When I get shipping numbers from the [any] courier, here (Australia), they give me a booklet of 1000 packing slips (numbers) that get attached to the boxes I want to send, then just scanned and sent.
What’s the holdup on getting “shipping numbers” here, or are those numbers only issued after a completed Pimax unit is sent to the courier?
A single off the shelf 3d printer could make more than 3 ‘casings’ in a day…
Sorry, but in this statement is noot to be understood ?! They clearly say there shipping partner gave them 26 shipping numbers.
So now Pimax at least know how much of the 50 units they are producing per day really made it to their shipping partner in that 14 days span. I guess they should perhaps check that work flow, the „loss“ along the way seems to be a bit high even for Chinese standards… that‘s a lot of friends who got a nice little present from their friends who work in that work flow…
Recent rift update no rift 2 on the near horizon.
Now I don’t understand what you mean there, in reference to my question about receiving a small amount of shipping numbers at one time.
My question, is how can a shipping company not have 1000’s of packing slips/numbers ready to go, being that I presume they ship 1000’s of items all day every day - what’s the context being used, in which the shipping company can only issue so few shipping numbers - is it, as I said, because they only send the shipping number back to Pimax, once the headset has been sent/given to the shipping partner?
As I said, standard practice in my country is the shipping number is just in a booklet, or a roll of stickers in the 1000’s, you tear one out and stick it to a box, done there’s your shipping number.
When Pimax say “we’re waiting for shipping numbers,” do they mean so that Pimax can send out a headset for every number, or that the HMD’s are with the shipping company and once sent, the shipping company tell pimax what number they used?
Pimax have previously said that they’re waiting on shipping numbers, as a reason for the holdup… So that’s where my question comes from.
I think they simply ship the units produced that day to the logistics company. Then they get tracking numbers for only those.
But of course what happened for the last 10-11 days with so little production =/
this is very very sad…
Yeah, ok so just issued as per the production …
I thought that would be the case, but an earlier post seemed to suggest getting shipping numbers from the shipping company is somehow a slowing process.
If those headsets have actually been shipped, but simply the number itself has not been confirmed/given to Pimax [to then give to us], I feel thats a bit of a crap process but it isn’t slowing anything down (with regards to actually receiving a headset) …
I couldn’t understand why to wait for a number, as said my experience with shipping is that I’ve already put the shipping number on the box before the shipping company even knows I’m going to send anything.
ie, this is how the process goes here:
1.I pack a box
2.I put a sticker/shipping slip on box (with shipping number on it,) which I took from my booklet of shipping slips (or roll of stickers) previously supplied by my courier(s)
3. I ring shipping company “Hi, I have x packages to go”
4. Shipping company collects packages and sends them out
Bad news : We will get headset so much late.
Good news : We will have more time to make the decision after have an option to upgrade to be 5k BE, wait tester to get it soon.
why did this get reported lmaooo
Without any context, the lack of significant progress defies comprehension.
@deletedpimaxrep1 @Pimax-Support @PimaxVR
This lack of communication is just bewildering to me. Are you seriously incapable of understanding the damage you’re doing to Backer good will?!?
Is it a cultural thing to not report the bad and only the good?
Please help me (us?) wrap my head around this.
I was joking… the fact that Pimax needs their logistics partner to tell them how many Pimax headsets are being shipped is a bit weird. Sure, they need to get tracking nos. from them, but the total quantity of headsets shipped should perhaps be available at Pimax directly, no ?
they saw new Pimaxies and said fork it!
Yes they must have seen all 26 in the wild…
Truth they’d only need to see 2.
Ag, okay sure, agreed. I think you also made a little typo the bit that I had quoted, and I couldn’t put it together at the time
Clearly, Pimax is not applying the shipping numbers themselves. They obviously know how many headsets are built and shipped each day. I think they don’t want to waste time sending 2 email: Your headset has left the factory and then another one: and here’s your shipping number.
I can understand that, but it seems like a low-quality (cheap) shipping service is being used.
I don’t want them to speed up shipments, at the cost of lowered QA. They are slowly ramping up and ARE actually shipping headsets, so there’s not much we can do, except be patient.
A few monthes ago I’ve read an article describing how shipments from china were optimized. They try to fill the containers the best as possible, so when there is room left in a container it’ll go cheap.
That could explain why pimax get the tracking number only afterward. Only when the HMD box have found a room in a given container they are being informed of the tracking number for that specific container.
