What problems? I don’t have any problem regarding this. Haven’t watched the video yet, but as I said yesterday, I asked Seb twice in advance (in private) to edit 2 seconds of the video. He chose not to. Then i stated in the forums its not the final unit and shouldn’t be announced as such. And I criticised his unboxing. Because I found it quite funny… Then drama started.
What Seb does on his channel is not my problem, and his opinion about Pimax is his free opinion, and I wont argue of course. And if he want or doesnt want to do Pimax content is totally up to him. Just dont say its a final unit. Thats was my only concern.
And I dont feel the need of being a part of another drama. If Seb wants to take anything personally with me, then he can for sure, as we have our own private conversations.

Yes you being sick didn’t help matters. Plain and simple communication was not met by your own words on the new procedure was not followed in sending the Sample.

If Samples are being sent without info. After the last episode of " The Bold & The Beautiful"; It’s a no brainer not to do anything with them until the matter is resolved.

Again, its Sebastians own decision to not do any videos.
The NDA prevents from 2 things:
- full/final reviews
- calling it final unit
Everything else is allowed. Im under the same restrictions. And again, I dont see the problem.

Thats what its all about having an 8KX before release. Testing things, finding flaws, reporting and improving. Meanwhile doing whatever videos possible, except full reviews.

When it comes to me btw, nobody at Pimax has ever asked me for doing a video. I do it because its fun and like to share the news and excitement. I have a bunch of units at home right now for one reason, EU meetups coming up.

Since neither of the headsets he has recently received are clearly identified it is best to shelf them as unknown.
It doesn’t hurt his business by playing it safe due to drama created by non communication.
You made it clear new procedures were not followed in shipping these samples out.
As for EU meetups it is unfortunate this drama was created as I am sure Seb might have helped with a venue.

I disagree. All the units sent to - or handed over - to me, Sebastian, @mirage335 and @vrgamerdude are release candidate units. And all of us knew about this during CES.
There should not be any confusion here. And again, there are NO restrictions on what to record or present in public, except for final unit reviews. There is nothing to hide and nothing that hinders the testers to do any kind of videos online, except reviews.
I really dont get it how this could be so difficult to understand, or accept. Look at @vrgamerdude, no problems whatsoever for Don doing 8KX videos on his channel. Nobody is complaining.

Just for comprehension: Would any review that starts with: “This is a review of a preproduction unit. Negative (and if we are unlucky also positive) aspects mentioned here could still be subject to change” be considered as a non final unit review that would be fine, no matter which further (legal) content it contains? Or what else would define a final review that is explicitly forbidden?

20 units will be shipped out before CNY. - Said by Robin. Seb didn’t receive his at CES. You only just told people the 20 units were held back. This info was not released in a timely manner and not even released properly. So it was not clear what was sent save the MAS as stated in the Unboxing Video.
Own this as it was when Voodoo was sent a sample with miscommunication.

I will explain why reviews of non-final unit are not recommended.
A non final unit is not final for a reason. Its still under some testing phase and COULD have issues. It doesn’t have to, but it could.
Once you do a review on Youtube, its stays there forever. Early videos often ranks the best. So an early “8KX review” would be highly ranked 1 year later, despite many others doing reviews of the final unit. Once the product is final, and people google on 8KX review, they might find the old non-final review, which COULD potentially have flaws. Which are no longer there and solved long ago. This could hurt the brand and sales.
This is why you ALWAYS sign an NDA with companies, especially when the unit u get is a pre-production unit.
Pimax made the mistake in the past to let me and others do “Reviews” of the 8K and 5K+ long before it was final. Still today I get hundreds of views on that video every day. And back in these days, the units did indeed had some flaws. You couldn’t even power off the unit with the button, which I even covered in the video.
On the other hand, from a Youtube perspective, an early “full review” is all you want. It gives u views, new subscribers and some pennies in revenue.
I hope you get the point.

Sebastian’s unit is NOT one of the 20 units. The shipment of first batch 20 units got late and will be sent out after CNY. Sebastian got the unit because he asked about it, and I pushed for it to Robin ever since CES.
