Yeah beat me too it. But yeah this is definitely a bad end to what looked to be an interesting product. While this is unfortunate to their backers; consider how much worst it is for this company’s team whom likely many of them had life savings invested. 
We should count ourselves fortunate that pimax is a great company that has managed themselves well.

At least Pimax is well funded and showed it’s capable of manufacturing VR HMD’s before. So the chances that the 8k adventure will end like the one above is really small.
