The refund received was less than I paid

@PimaxUSA @PimaxQuorra

Hi there, I just got my 8kX refund for

£430.77 which by today’s exchange rate is $562.82 USD. However, I paid $609 USD in Nov 2019 can you explain please why there is this $46.18 discrepancy as no cancellation fees were mentioned at all and I don’t think the exchange rate has changed this much since November 2019 correct me if I am wrong. I hear several others have a similar refund issue.

I assume this is some error and will be rectified swiftly.

Thanks.

Is this the same as simply replying via the communications I have already? Yes I sent a message to Amily.XU. If you can expedite the issue with my order number then great. I will PM it to you.

Why the hell did you refund your 8k x in the first place :joy::man_shrugging::man_facepalming:

Because of the reported issue with eye-strain and headaches. I had that with the 8K and spent weeks of my life trying to workaround it (to no avail). I don’t want to go through that again with the 8KX. It’s the canted displays and specific head-shape that manifests the issue which is why some people have no problems.

Second issue, I feel a PIMAX 8KX+ will come sooner than later so I don’t mind waiting for that (and if they address the eye strain issue). If eye strain is just a by-product of canted displays that cannot be fixed physically or with software , then current Pimax headsets aren’t for me.

But the brain automatically does solve the issue after 10 min of usage :man_shrugging: I have the same experience every time when I am switching between my Index and pimax xr . In the first mins its like :nauseated_face::nauseated_face: , but then I get fully immersed and I am like

As I mentioned, I gave it plenty of time for adjustment (two weeks or more) but to no avail unfortunately. There are many threads about this issue on these forums. I can’t live with constant daily headaches. I thought maybe the issue would have been resolved with the 8KX (hence why I ordered one) but from some of those who have them already, they reported the same issue still exists.

OK guys the other thread went totally off-topic where the mods somehow let it do so for what ever reason. It kind of buries, the real issues. @RaiN274 can we stick with on-topic comments please. There are plenty of topics about eye strain, look them up.

Thanks.

True and sorry about that.
Edit. FYI, there’s the flag post function, don’t hesitate to use it.

Not for all. A friend of mine has the same issue with 3d movies. He always has a headache by the end of the movie. Not everyone can adapt to a variety of visual tricks to the brain.

Oh okay then… lets hope pimax will improve that in future

Nice,next ste forward …

I got a cancelation fee myself of $34.61, the explanation I got was.

“Production has been arranged and we have purchased raw materials.so the customer will take the expense if they cancel the order.”

Am i supposed to get that, seems other people are not paying a cancelation fee of sorts.

That is an odd explanation, given that Pimax are selling new 8kX for $1300. So they actually make a lot of money with every backer who cancels and leaves an 8kX that can be sold for full price. So break even for Pimax would be if they would pay back $1300, anything less should make them money.
Also interesting to hear that the raw materials for an 8kX are <$35…

yeah the fee makes no sense, both the amount and the explanation (given how low it is and that they could use the money against a new order anytime) a basic admin fee of $15 would make sense.

Contacted quora and pimaxusa many times because of that issue. They said they would help but they did not. This issue is going on for some weeks now without any clarification other than more or less same message from support.
I think it is quite sad no other official comments on that.

so they are not attempting to charge you a cancelation fee?

I am being charged a cancelation fee.

any clues @PimaxUSA @PimaxQuorra

As I said, same here.
The only people that did not pay cancelation fees were actually the smart ones, that spared themselves
an endless back and forth pimax conversation. Some went straight to the CC company and “refunded” the money that way. Stupid me being to be polite and try to have Pimax solved this.

I wrote to support…again.
Still no help from @PimaxUSA and @PimaxQuorra. Tried via reddit as well. They for sure do not like to deal with tricky topics.
They could simply say :“we can take unagreed fees whenever we want” or “sorry, this was a mistake”
No tacheless statement other than the very unsatisfying one from suport with arguments making it even worse.
They have the time to flag post by angry users but not dealing with the actual issue…, not a word.
Do not wanna rant, but those are facts. Happily want to get proven otherwise
