The new ID of the Pimax controllers

I do agree. But if you want a simple solution. Portable battery packs that one uses for cell phones.

The Dollar store for example here has 2 varieties an 1800mah & a 4400mah. (Posted before a pic) will find one when home.

4400mah - it will be good :ok_hand:

With tha a simple arm band to hold your cell phone/mp3 player to hold the battery.

Lots of battery bank options. Often promote those to friends for wireless controllers like ps & xb. :beers::sunglasses::+1::sparkles:

I am again glad that I had pledged for the controllers.

They are looking great. I think I will bonk my head or hit my shoulder when grabbing weapons from the back etc with the large ring. Potentially immersion breaking but I can live with it.

They look to have about an inch more height at their widest point , so clearance from the body shouldn’t be to difficult to adjust for. They do appear to be quite a bit more compact than knuckles.

Well, yes, I missed that voltage of 3.7, unfortunately … Therefore, in our case, the best option would be a very capacious battery, not like Vive. But, I would still like AA batteries, because they can just be changed, but 3.7V is needed, and I do not have such …

Two 18650 in each would be nice, cheap and quick to charge, and also I already have a load

Two 18650s?? There would never be enough space in the controller for two, actually, given all of the other internal electronic gubbins & whatchimadoodads that will be stuffed in there, I’d be surprised if they could get a single 18650 in there. A custom LiPo might be in order.

Yes but custom lipo would mean if it dies then it would be very hard to replace, the same thing has happen to one of my vive controllers.

honest opinion, i just want to strap 5 laptop batteries to my chest like sticks of c4 and connect everything to them. tracking pucks, wireless module, controllers, headset.

I really do feel we are at a point where an all in one battery back pack that can feed everything for 5-6 hours is the way to go.

Agreed a battery doesn’t need to be. Self contained. Antvr II had the controllers plug into the headset.

There is a first…

Zotac has one as well.

ahhh to be clear i dont mean a pc backpack, i mean literally a unified battery for all the wireless vr stuff. like 200000mAh XD something more 250 usd than 3000

I would think twice before hanging such a lithium bomb to my body, the batteries sometimes explode you know …

A slight exaggeration perhaps ;). The risks of lithium-ion cells are usually down to failings of the person using them, like charging them incorrectly, buying knock-off cells from eBay that claim wildly exaggerated capacities, letting them short out in pockets, or using them inappropriately (like people who think that any 18650 will work in a vape mod, not realising that they need ones that can provide a much higher current draw than regular cells).

If I have a lot of calls to attend for work in a day, I usually have a 10A lithium polymer power bank in my pocket to keep my knackered phone running, so I’d have no qualms about doing the same when playing in VR… but I would still prefer internal batteries just so there aren’t extra cables tethering me to the controllers.

That’s a cool design for the backpack. I can see the 3D printing lot getting in on that, designing parts to make the backpack look military, adventurer, Sci/Fi. etc.

That & Samsung. Lol Lol

I knew someone would mention Samsung eventually  , but in their case it wasn’t the batteries at fault, it was two circuit pathways on the mainboard that had insufficient separation and allowed the power to short out between them, that’s what caused the batteries to overheat ;).

I think the right-most white 3D printed model might be the best design. The most recent design, like many have said, could be a problem when performing certain actions (think about laying down for shooters like Onward), as well as using gun stocks (I can picture us having to bend our wrists pretty uncomfortably to use stocks with the latest design).

As for a name, I was thinking something related to ā€œPiā€ (or a circle) would be appropriate, like maybe 360 Touch? Or Full Circle?
