This title is not a sarcasm at all. I am truly grateful for Pimax finally gets up to speed and delivers what we really want ahead of schedule !!
What a journey since the Crystal was announced ! We had been hyped, disappointed and angry… all combined.
The recent re-organization seems working at Pimax benefit. Not only the communication of progress is fast and constant, the speed of product development also caught up and passed the competitors.
I will order a Pimax Crystal Super right away, and appreciate that Pimax offers free shipping in my region. And also the free DMAS and top strap.
Somehow the familiar Pimax, which was leading the 8k and wide fov, is finally back.
Crystal light is a great headset as well. I had thought about buying it numerous times, but since I already own a Varjo Aero, buying it seems redundant, even though Crystal should be better at every aspect. I’d prefer to have a headset that will be next level without breaking the bank.
AVP is quite a great option as well, but it’s too much to pay upfront, and other Apple things are too expensive to pay in the long run. I’d prefer PCVR which is open and has a lot more choices.
The $999 upfront price tag is a good strategy in my case. For a “hobby” I cannot pay more than that in one shot.
Most importantly, this time I don’t need to wait for years to get the headset. If can get it on Q2 I am a happy man. Already formed the hobby of watching all movies with my Quest 3, but I increasingly noticed the small SDE in the pictures. With the new headset, I am sure all my 8k video and 4k movies shall have the next level of clarity, and no SDE even I try to find it.
Games? No, I am too old to play games. My favorite activities now is watching latest 4k movies in a 1000 feet movie theater on the moon. Some nice people upscale some 1080p 3D movies to 4k 90fps ones, which I was totally amazed how good they look in my Quest 3. I have no doubt they will be even more amazing in this new Crystal Super headset.
