Hi guys! Think I´m going crazy. One day everything works the other day nothing. I have the latest Piplay beta. No games will start in the Pimax, they start in the main display or I get a grey framed window from Steam VR. What to do?
Try running the non-beta release until you’ve got it running stable and you know everything works as it should.
Then mess with the Beta.
To be honest that has been my pimax experience, very hard to get a consistent result. My ritual is
close down software (steamvr, pimax), reload pimax, unplug headset put back in, try steamvr.
If that does not work
Right click on pimax icon in task bar and select pimax mode
and if that does not work restart and start again.
took me two hours once to get it to work after it was working the night before.
Although now with steps above can get it working within ten minutes (which is still really annoying)

Also I know this might sound a bit crap (in that it would be awesome to get a product that works 100%) it is worth percisting with.
The results when working are amazing.
I’ve just done a complete reinstall of windows and vr software and the results are much more consistent.
I am using an older beta, if you read the piplay support thread to get info on which is best.
To summarize. I’ve had my pimax since November, I can get it to function 90% of the time. At a good resolution but still a few bugs pop up. Still hopeful the software will get better.
I´ve got excellent remote support and (for now) everything is working with the latest beta. It took them a while and they found some corrupt files that they never encountered before. They are going to fix this in coming releases. As u say, it´s amazing when it works. Haven´t tried Oculus or Vive so I can´t compare.
