So dust on the screen and ive tried to fix it

hey guys so just got my pimax and noticed a fleck of something on what i thought was the lesne wiped it and it didnt come off so i thought either on the other side of the lense or on the display itself soI managed to take it apart and got to the point of taking the lens of then noticed there was another bit of glass in front of the screen I shown a light in side and there was a speck of something looking like skin or a flake of something behind the second piece of glass on the actual screen itself. i couldn’t work out how to get passed this second piece of glass and to the actual display so I put it back together again. im guessing its now no longer under warranty so further instruction on how to access the actual screen would be much appreciated if it is at all possible

This should not happen but yet it does.

Pimax got some QA issues.

They need to provide dissasembly/re-assembly instructions.

The cost of shipping can get out of hand so that would be a +1 on their part.

Here is a link to a short disassembly video and there is also a longer version of it on YouTube.

followed that but once you remove the lenses and all the other parts shown in the video you left with the electronics board attached to a plastic box containing the display screens and infront of them some more glass that goes in-between the display and the lenses you can remove. but i cant work out how to get into that box. i may take another crack at it some time this week. i just dont want to completely mess up the hmd i know it was only £300 but i dont have that sort of money to just throw away lol

sorted it without any help from pimax. managed to get into the box containing what im guessing is the blue light filter lenses lift the right one up spray some condensed air into it onto the display and removed the speck. then i nervously put it all back together again and it works without any dust speck. i wouldnt not recommend anyone to do it however as its very complex and could easily have gone wrong. but hey i took the risk and now my pimax is perfect. well a tiny bit of yaw drift on some apps but i hope pimax will sort that out with future firmware updates

edit: or maybe i just moved it because there is now a speck on the left side that i cant wipe off. good damn it am i really going to have to take it apart again

WELL I HOPE U DONT GET THE RED GREEN LIGHTS OF DEATH , i did the same thing and now just red green lights and nothing else.

yeah i dont think i am going to open it a 4th time i think i’ll just leave it now
