Yes, I thought so too. The sde of the vive is pretty bad, when you first put on the headset but after a while you don’t even notice it.
The thing that bothers me quite a bit is the FOV of the vive. And I already bought the 6mm foam. The stock foam was really bad FOV wise. But the 5K is gonna blow the vive out of the water, in terms of Fov, I think it is sufficient for me.
SDE is hardly noticable and much better than Vive , I tested it with the qhd screen of my LGG4 phone in cardboard viewer , although I suppose it could be dependent on more than just resolution
Is yours 1070 desktop? Then you are in a better poaition than me. But i survived 44fps playing SPT, so I thought I’ll bet on the pimax

Yep, the stock foam on the VIVE is incredibly bad. It’s insane how big of a difference the 6mm foam makes.
Yes. And if they have foveated rendering too. But for now… fingers crossed.
Seems like they are not willing to confirm an intent of implementing foveated rendering on their eye tracker.
And their brain warp is probably only a concept.
Let’s hope they can make it.

By the way, for the wireless solution for the pimax, will 8k also not give extra load compared to 5k?
That’s correct, both the 5k and 8k are sent 2x1440p, only difference with the 8k is when the headset receives the data it is upscaled to 4k.
