Hello, I bought my Pimax 4K VR last December and it had worked great just until a few months ago (I just decided to start fixing it now).
Basically the screen will not turn on.
I have installed many versions of PiPlay, flashed the correct firmware to the device (100 serial #), tried multiple computers and it still does not work.
The device IS detected, sound DOES work, and tracking also WORKS. It’s just the display is black.
I have not dropped the device or misused it.
MY GUESSES TO A SOLUTION:
Could the infrared sensor be broken / damaged?
Could the internal wiring have become lose on the display causing no connection?
So it seems, there is a hardware problem.
You can try to open the HMD by using a mini screw driver (cross) and open the screws on the sides who are coveres with closure stoppers. Or you go to a specialist to ask for.
I might have to open it myself, if the official Pimax Support doesn’t help much then it looks like I’ll do that. I’ll let you know my findings as soon as I can.
