Roll back to Piplay 1.1.92

Hi guys,
I had a gaming laptop with the next specs: Win 7 Pro (64 bit), Intel i7, 32 gig ram, GTX 880m. 1st HD 256 gig SSD , 2nd HD 750 gig, 17" HD monitor.
With this laptop I had installed the new Piplay 1.2.95 to check the new render engine, to test with custom res. and another testing stuff, but for my surprise the new Piplay locked my resolution to 1920x1080 (Max). Then I change Piplay from lite version to full version warning me that I should get slow preformance. Then all still the same (resolution locked) but I had the option to change between Pimax and Video mode and other options that were locked in Pipay lite. I unchecked 1920x1080 resolution to change 2560x1440 res. and did not work. The only way to get that resolution (2560x1440) is in Pimax mode and nvidia DSR.
Then I thought… well let´s roll back where all was good… Piplay 1.1.92… and again all locked as Piplay 1.2.95.

Now my scenario is the next: my Pimax 4K is F/W 265 and I had no problem with my desktop PC (GTX 980ti, Intel i5, 8 gig ram) and Pimax 1.2.95. all works good and even more (I already show you in 5K … thread)

My questions are,

How can I completely roll back to Piplay 1.1.92 without this problems?? (seems like Piplay 1.2.95 remains even after uninstall)

Can this problem be cause by the new Pimax 4K F/W 265 update ???

The previus time that I used my gaming laptop with Piplay 1.1.92 all were right; 2560x1440 resolution, DSR till 5K in Pimax mode and Steam VR extended mode, and the stuff that work with this Piplay Version.

I suspect that the new Piplay (1.2.9…) check your GPU and then LOCK ALL !!! LOL :unamused:

Thank you man.

Yeah, LOL.
Not possible. You’re misleading something, not properly uninstalling/installing software.
So how to fix it?

  • make sure there is no running piplay process in the task manager
  • uninstall through windows options
  • manually search for piplay folders and delete them if they persist
    \Program Files\Pimax\Piplay
    \AppData\Local\Pimax
    \ProgramData\pimax
  • reboot (not a bad idea even if not necessary)
  • install what you want

p.s. considering credo post it could be firmware issue

My headset used to work without problems with the version 1.1.92 on the 265 firmware.
Now version 1.1.92 does not work

Comparing my 2 system (desktop and laptop), the main difference are GPU, laptop has GTX 880m (8 gig, kepler) and desktop has GTX 980 ti (6 gig maxwell).
Why Pimax team locked resolution with new version (Piplay or F/W) ??? My GTX 880m did well with 2K resolution and DSR (higher than 2K of course). Another strange decision. :smirk:
Obvious it is a GPU judgment for GTX 960 for minimun requirement.
Please leave to customer determine it like in Piplay 1.1.92 in future versions.
@pimaxsupport

Your laptop ensure your intel graphics disabled.

Uninstall piplay (ensure all instances of pi server killed in taskmanager.

Delete steamvr settings file.

1.1.92 should work. Compare with @Enopho. He has 2 identical systems. One running 1.2.95 & other running 1.1.92.
