When I try it , If It’s as revolutionary as you say I will eat my words.
But I it still stands that unfortunately the hype will die down fast surrounding this headset.
There are some hints already that this has already started.
I ordered a new pair of Mamut Touch Grips stating compatibity with G2. Turns out they are the exact grips from the rift CV1 that they rebranded. They took advantage of the hype, but dont seem to have any dedicated plans for the G2 going forward.
VR Cover coukd make a new facial interface for G2 to increase FOV. But I heard that they are about as likely to do that as creating Pimax VR Covers. In other words no G2 plans for 2021.
During this weeks Rendered Reality Podcast both guys who jumped on the G2 because Tyriel persuaded them it was the “best Headset Ever” Sean is now thinking about returning his only 2 weeks in.
And the other guy is on the fence, but may keep it because he’s a simmer.
His audience in the chat were saying things like
" So is the G2 dead to you guys now?"
Im not saying the screens aren’t amazing its just that it seems that screens are only 1 point in a bullet list of what makes an HMD that people talk about for years.
Index seems to have checked many boxes for people. and so has the Quest.
WMR seems to have had the hype baloon deflated a bit . Especially since losing its exclusivity window for MSFS2020.
