Hi Pimax, can you please tell me, is there an estimated release date for your Pimax8k wireless module? Is it possible to give us more information, such as the technical specifications, as well as some more images/videos about it?
Thanks
We haven’t lockdown the design of the module yet.
We will release time soon after lockdown.
Any idea feel free to let us know.
I have just received information from team that the wireless module has changed from the HDMI to the DP(display port), which is now being evaluated.
Sounds awesome, please keep us updated about the wireless module!
hi
@PimaxVR @deletedpimaxrep1
a simple idea.
place one or more battery on the belt as an option through a cable.
in addition to that on the Head Strap.
( HMD-Transmitter_Battery-----Option_Battery----Option_Battery)
another?
HotSwap Battery!
Sorry for my bad english

Hi @Matthew.Xu
Do you know much about the next prototype(ready in 2 weeks) will it have any other improvements you can tell us about? Better lcd displays? Ipd adjust? Thanks!
As a TPCAST+Vive daily user for around 2 months now, I really hope that u will have a belt-mounted battery holder and NOT a battery holder on the headset itself.
Im using the TPCAST with belt holder using 22100mAh Anker battery (almost half a kilo) and its still very comfortable and gives me around 4 hours of playtime per battery. Using a smaller head-mounted battery is not a good idea, as it would give shorter usage and more weigth to the neck.
Also, I hope u will be able to make the wireless battery-unit compatible with the Anker batteries as they are really great preformance, not too heavy, and I already have two of these hehe…
Hi @Davobkk
I don’t have much information about the wireless module right now, but I can consult my colleagues tomorrow when they go to work.
Hi. Sorry I was asking about the next prototype of 8K. Any improvements you know about?
Wireless requests:
- please use the high 60ghz wireless spectrum.
- like sweviver said, no batteries on the head. On the belt is the way to go.
- hot swappable batteries.
- no old router equipment, especially that will throttle the pcs wired speeds. A dongle would be nice.
- as low profile as reasonably possible
- just get ready for this now but people will own pimax 8k x hmd and they’re going to want full wireless resolution on them.
- can you make it look like it’s part of the hmd, and not something hanging off? While hmd look futuristic having things hanging off of it looks more like a mad scientist than a space marine.
- release lighthouses that have the wireless signal tech integrated in it, as apposed to hanging another piece of Tech on the wall.
This is essential indeed. Weight on the neck is a very bad idea.
Thanks!we’ll evaluated the related Tech.
I like your requests but number 8) no I already have the 1.0 lighthouse for my Vive
the solution should not be integrated into the lighthouse. Sweviver does make some good points he has fully tested the Tpcast solution with his Vive and works very well as he has shown on his youtube video game plays.
Absolutely agree, I would base the design and R&D on those who are currently using the TPcast. If anyone else owns a TPcast/has experience, get your opinions out on here for the Pimax team. Nothing is better than already experienced users. I for one am really excited for wireless (hate the cord wrapping around my legs). IMO, wireless would really help for motion sickness, because I find when I rotate my body to turn the in game camera, it works much better than turning with the controller. Obviously this can cause the cord to coil around you over time - killing the experience.
On a side note, I too am curious of the current tech out there and whether or not it can handle dual native 4k bandwidth. I’m pretty sure tpcast is “future proof” for 4k, but two 4k displays is a different story.
Also, if you can get the built-in microphone to work with a wireless solution, thats gonna be a top-seller because currently TPCAST can’t handle it.
Valve was working with quark, who had a touted wireless 8k vr solution working. Also interior had a solution but I don’t think theirs was that good.
Guys I’ll keep you posted once I get my Pimax 8k and the HP omen X VR backpack or the HP Z backpack, should be around the same time hopefully. That’s the only way I’ll play with this beast, no cables for me anymore since I’ve been using the TPcast with the Vive, or until they make some magic happen till release date for wireless for the Pimax which I doubt is something they aren’t to worried about right now.
