Personally, out of all the things to be upset about, this would not be one for me if I was still a backer. One or two headsets redirected will not change the course of their manufacturing schedule. The larger issues is the hardware issues that exist with a larger percentage of the 5K+, and giving one to this guy with a CLUSTER of dead pixels just put it all under a wider range of scrutiny and MAY have lost them some pre orders. The real obvious thing here that is concerning is they knew he would review this to a large audience and even that did not prevent a bad unit from being delivered.
I can’t believe there are people who think it’s not appropriate to send headsets to reviewers. If you’re offended by this seriously think for two minutes.
Reviewers or plain youtubers?
Anyway, in my opinion the timing was bad from pimax.
Pissed off many backers and the software is still very buggy. Many glitches. Awesome.

It’s has nothing to do with … “not being appropriate to send to reviewers”… I’ve not heard a single person say that. The issues has never been about sending to reviewers… more like, timing and which reviewers has been the issue.

and @SweViver rated the 8k one star at the8k orderpage on the pimax website! how childisch is that and how it is not respecting other people how like the 8k more! I have contacted pimax about that

well I wound not rate 8k with 1 star but comment he made it’s consistent with my opinion - 5k plus is better in my eyes ( assuming it’s really his opinion , might be a prank - fake account)
he is not honest here. After i tried the headsets in Gouda i liked the 8k more, in short i’m sensitive to screendooreffect and the 8k was a more polished experience for me. I went to him saying i was confused because i did choose the 5k+ based on the info there was, but in reallife the 8k was better for me.
He answered nicely to me, there is no good or bad headset only the one who fits your preferences and perseption. I fully agreed with that. And now i find this on the website, a totally different story

i respect that you like the 5k+ more, why should we all like the same tv for example? The opinions are so mixed we have to respect that. I hope you are right thats its a prank or something like that

For your interests:
If I ever had to rate the 5K+ and 8K on a scale from 1 to 10, i would give 5K+ a 9 and the 8K an 8 in score.
The 8K is definitelty not far away from the 5K+ in any way, especially with latest software scaling improvements.
Btw ive never noticed that point/rate system on the Pimax order page.
