The Oculus runetime doesn’t get along with the PimaxVR software
i know, thats why i have uninstall the oculus software !
Because if the image still blurry
yes it is also not good
Then maybe is a hardware issue, because if the lenses are unfocused, all will be seeing blurry, so maybe that is what happend to your unit
Sure ? The same here.

Do you have myopia? As i understand, people with myopia not have problem with focus, but people with 0 myopia - have problem.
Apparently Pimax P1 developed myopic man for himself
Where exactly do I put these settings?

No, I don’t have myopia so that’s te cause I think that maybe is a hardware issue (if the lenses got moved due a hit in the postage or something)
I’ve tried to take a picture through the lenses, the camera in my phone it isn’t very good, but there is good enough to get an idea of what I see
But with my eyes I saw them sharper
Where exactly do I put these settings?
Inside the SteamVR Config fiile, the file is in “Steam Library->Config->steamvr.vrsettings”
I replaced the text that was in their and it hasn’t changed anything, it’s still blurry at the center of the screen, the edges are fine which is weird.
Thanks anyway.

In my Pimax is the oposite, the center very sharp and blurry in the edges (the same as all the HMD I’ve had), so maybe in some batches they mount the lenses inverted? I think that explain the blurry problems
Maybe this is “interpolation” problem ? I have 4K samsung display and when i set 1080p input signal - the image quality is bad ( is blurry), but when i put the same 1080p signal in to my 1080p native display- the image looks better ( is sharp).
Wouldnt this make display look smaller? Arent theese magnifying lenses?
How do you change the signal to 1080p instead of 4k?

That’s another possible explanation, but the funny thing is that not everyone had this problem, maybe it depends on the graphic card or the other display connected? (I have a 1070 and a Samsung 4k as my primary monitor)

Mmm, I think that you’re right, what a failure
How do you change the signal to 1080p instead of 4k?
We have to wait to the next Pimax Software version, because in the Original Chinese you can do that, but when they launch the international version, they blocked it to 1080p I don’t know why
Ah well thats annoying.
This is test my old benq LCD 1080p and 4K samsung display.
I take a photo:
like you see interpolation destruction image and they looks blurry. Much more worst that on native 1080p display.
Nice find Tomsanders, but that doesnt explain why on my headset central part is much more blurry then rest of the screen. What i mean is, for exapmle in Project Cars there is a button in top left corner which starts a race. I can read it without any problems when i point my head at the centre of the options screen (i mean when the button stays in top left corner of my view), but when i turn my head so the button is in the centre of the view, it becomes unreadable.
I found a picture with said button, which is called “Play now”
Hey Satanski
This is clearly the lens problem. (lens’ sweet spot)
(Because lenses are large-diameter probably depth of field is realy small)
You have two options to check this:
1 Change the distance lens of the screen (but is it possible ? )
2 Use some glasses (check different dioptrii) to correct lens’ sweet spot
sorry for my english
Maybe it is posible - when the input signal is 1920x1080 and the PIMAX screen resolution is 3840x2160 (4x1080p) - just “turn off” interpolation system iside PIMAX 4K
It is posible ??
for example:
Input each 1 pixels >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>responds 4 pixels on pimax 4K display (no interpolation)
(still no SDE and the image is more sharpen)
That blurry problem seems to be a lens problem, there maybe out of focus and that’s why you see the center of the image blurry and the edges well, because this lens are thiner in the center than in the edges, and that give us dual focus points, and due the tolerance in the fabrication proces there can move a little and must be adjusted in the assemble process (since we can’t move it later).
This is one possibility, and the other is that the software that they said could adjust the myopia with fixes lens really exists, and in some units are wrong configured XD
@Oege,
We’re investigating this issue now. Could you please put some lable on the headset, it will help us to identify your headset and do analysis to find rootcause.
Thanks!
Yes, i can take a picture in 1 hour.
