We want to ship the headsets to you as soon as possible, meanwhile, the opinion of our community makes total sense that quality comes first.
Our plan is to invite VR enthusiasts to check out our new prototype at CES on Jan. If they give us the green light, then we stick to our original shipping plan; if they think we need to further improve the product, then we prefer not to rush. It all depends on whether enthusiasts like the experience or not.
When we launch on Kickstarter several months ago, we only have a prototype with us and want to learn from the expectations of the talented global VR community. We are lucky enough to have people to try out the prototypes and share their thoughts, and now we are working on 8K to make it better.
We are still trying to keep our original shipping schedule, and again, quality comes first.
People don’t have to wait anymore when we launch 8K on e-commerce channels, the price will be different though.
The experience of our 5946 8K backers is our top priority. If you have anything in your mind to make 8K better, please do not hesitate to poke @Matthew.Xu
Thanks, if you find anything need to improve in the forum, please shot me a message and let me know.
It will be a new prototype in CES. We will tell more info about the version before CES.
We will tell the exact changes to the new prototype before CES.
Let me double check with the product manager tomorrow about the status and plan of the controllers.
Second - oh my god People, please back off ! I know we all would love to know everything asap, influence everything our way, have a 200Hz Pimax under the Crhistmas tree and so on… but they are working on it, they are communication (however frequent) and I guess solving the problems they know and can as good as feasible.
Their approach is logic and seems meaningful, make a prototype, get feedback on it, make it better if sensible. If they would share every thought they have, half of us would tear that apart and the other half would be hyped.
Lets just let them work and make our part a productive input rather than destructive, dictative shit-storm.
Your propaganda message is very nice. you have my applause …
know that we are letting him work.
the rest … we ask questions and request information.
we only ask for sincerity in the answers and of course that they comply with what was promised during the campaign.
now if you prefer to be misinforming and wait to see the viewer you receive … then it is better not to comment.
We are all looking for the best viewer for all, I think it is good that we think, criticize what we consider and see what is wrong.
our requirement will make a better product.
We all win … including Pimax.
Maybe he has not asked in the most polite way, but making sure Pimax see that they don’t have to go too far from Valve’s specifications to be as compatible as possible is a real productive contribution.
I was worried that the controllers did not have a minimum of compatibility with the knuckles or wands, at least it has served to see that maybe they can be made compatible with knunckles, if they won’t drop when you open your hands.
